Why a Vision Day is the ultimate solution for busy couples

Transformation
There’s one thing that especially lights me up in my work. That’s running my Couple Vision Days.
This year, they’ve really taken off, and seeing the transformations unfold is so satisfying for me as a therapist who strongly believes in the couple unit. There’s something genuinely transformative about dedicating an entire day to the ‘us’ in a relationship – taking a proper deep dive, away from the everyday noise and distractions. And this dedicated time can be so beneficial for any couple, regardless of their individual wiring.
Life Pressures
Life, as we all know, can be relentless. Work pressures, family commitments, the sheer chaos of it all can often push our most important relationship to the back burner. Before you know it, you might find yourselves feeling a bit disconnected, perhaps navigating recurring issues, or simply longing for that spark and shared direction you once had. That’s where the Couple Vision Day comes in. Think of it as a dedicated relationship MOT, a chance to press pause, take stock, and actively shape the future you both desire.
How a Vision Day Works
What I love about these days is their intensive nature. We don’t just scratch the surface; we really get into the nitty-gritty in a supportive and focused environment. It all starts with an initial consultation, usually about 90 minutes, either face-to-face or online. This gives me the opportunity to get to know you both, to truly understand what you’re hoping to achieve during our day together. We’ll have a proper chat about the dynamics, the challenges, and most importantly, your aspirations as a couple. This initial conversation is crucial, as it allows me to tailor the entire day specifically to your unique needs and goals.
Once we’ve had our initial chat, we’ll agree on a date and a location that works for you. The location is entirely your choice, and naturally, that will factor into the overall investment for the day. I do recommend somewhere with a great outdoor space for a walk for an important part of the day.
The Vision Day itself is a dedicated period structured into four key parts:
The welcome
After a coffee and a chance to settle in, the morning is dedicated to understanding how the current disconnect, if there is one, has evolved. We’ll gently explore past and present experiences, behaviours, and any recurring issues that might be casting a shadow. This thorough exploration is about gaining clarity and understanding the patterns at play.
Gathering thoughts at lunch
Lunch is an opportunity for you both to simply be together. It offers a welcome pause, a chance to simply be yourselves again, maybe even share a laugh without the morning’s focus.
A reflective walk
In the early afternoon, we’ll head out for a walk, ideally somewhere that allows us to connect with nature. A local park, the grounds of a hotel, perhaps even by the seaside. This is for a good breath of fresh air, but is also a time for individual reflection on what has surfaced during our conversations so far. The change of scenery can often bring new perspectives and insights.
Determining the way forward
The afternoon is where we get really practical. We’ll work together to agree on and map out the changes you both want to see. This could involve practical adjustments, such as re-evaluating work-life balance, or more profound behavioural shifts, where we address any negative cycles and I provide you with tangible tools and strategies to manage them more effectively.
Checking in
The Couple Vision Day is exclusively for the two of you – a dedicated space to truly listen, learn from each other, and rediscover that deep connection. And it doesn’t end there. About a month after our intensive day together, we’ll have a follow-up session. This is a crucial check-in to see how you’re progressing, to celebrate your successes, and to address any lingering questions or challenges that might have emerged.
The investment for a Couple Vision Day starts at £1,500, and as mentioned, the final figure will depend on your chosen location and the specific format of the day we create together. We’ll always agree on the price upfront, so there are no surprises.
For me, these Vision Days go beyond simply fixing issues. They’re about nurturing that deeper understanding, that spark of connection, and really empowering you both to shape the vibrant relationship you deserve. There’s nothing quite like seeing a couple leave with a renewed sense of direction, those practical tools in hand, and a visibly stronger bond. If you’re feeling that pull to invest a day in nurturing your ‘us’, do reach out – I’d love to chat.
